As their three young children got older, the homeowners felt they were outgrowing their kitchen. In addition, they found the layout restrictive and especially did not like having the refrigerator located in a heavily trafficked area. They wanted their kitchen to be a place where friends and family could comfortably gather and enjoy.
The island was a crucial feature to the homeowners. We designed it with two levels so it can be used for work and dining. By angling the ends, we were able to gain the length to accommodate the family without it feeling too big. Lastly, we used a creamy “Brie” color on the island while the perimeter cabinets are in a deep, rich cherry in order to define and balance the space.

The homeowners had several objectives for the remodel of their kitchen. They wanted to change the style from contemporary to French provincial. They also wanted to improve the traffic flow, gain more counter space, improve the lighting and incorporate the kitchen design to other areas of their home.
To achieve the look the homeowners wanted, the color and style of the cabinetry play an important role.
All cabinetry was custom-designed and custom-made using natural cherry with beaded inset and raised panel doors.
Wood paneling was used on most of the appliances to bring more warmth into the overall color scheme.
